I brought in 2 items to fixed and reframe … made these orders items look beautiful and almost brand new.

Always a warm, friendly and knowledgeable staff experience at Zeldas Art World. Especially with Jeff the proprietor who displays respect and patience with any customer who comes through their door.

Zelda’s Art World frames and products are built with impeccable artistry and craftsmanship. The owners have infused their talent and warmth into this magical space. This is one of the few stores left that have the authenticity, quality and care of a mom and pops establishment. I cannot recommend this place enough! Go visit!

We’re on the second generation of art class students at ZAW. My daughter has been improving her painting skills over the past few years thanks to the patient instructors, and we love hanging up her paintings in our home (after framing them at Zelda’s). There’s a great selection of classes and new services such as pottery, and the framing department has a huge selection including affordable and upscale options. We love this neighborhood fixture!
Edit 10/2020: Since the pandemic began, we’ve been stocking up on craft supplies from Zeldas. We found material for DIY kite making, and a pottery throwing set, we made our own decorations with sheets of felt, and have gone through countless canvasses! -
I always find myself at Zelda's Art World for all my art supply needs and decided to get some art framed a few weeks ago. Michael's could not give me the quality service I needed in art restorationst and framing my art because they just are not experts at framing! Thank You Zelda's for not only helping with me finding art supplies in the past but as a first time customer for a framing job you guys really guided me through some really neat options and my art work looks amazing at the end! Thank you for this! I can't wait to hang it in my living room for others to see it - I will be coming back in a few weeks to grab some more supplies and to frame another art piece ?
-
Wonderful craftmanship and extremely professional. They listened and focused what I wanted and needed, not on upselling me. It's the perfect local business, and I will definitely go back!
-
I needed to pick up some craft supplies for kids. I wanted them to enjoy a non- zoom art/ craft experience.
The salesperson was so friendly and helpful. -
Very pleasant experience well stocked friendly customer service great prices knowledgeable staff.... Love shopping local it's a real mom and pop store, which u gotta love
-
Went to Zeldas to get supplies for a date night, they had everything!! The boss was super friendly, willing to answer all my questions, and take time to make sure all my needs were met. Friendly, personable, great staff and a huge selection of any and all art supplies. Will be back
-
They had what I needed at a good price
-
I was there about over a year ago. They have all of the supplies at affordable prices. The staff is really knowledgeable and AWESOME! Go see them for yourself!
-
I love it there

Makenzi is amazing - second time was the charm to create amazing pottery pieces! Will go back again and bring my kids.

We’re on the second generation of art class students at ZAW. My daughter has been improving her painting skills over the past few years thanks to the patient instructors, and we love hanging up her paintings in our home (after gaming them at Zelda’s). Although we miss Zelda (who taught me oils), the new owners have been doing an excellent job keeping up the classes and offering new services such as pottery, and the framing department has a huge selection including affordable and upscale options. We love this neighborhood fixture!

Zelda's art world has always been a staple in the neighborhood and with the new ownership that came in last year they are now the only place I will go for art supplies, art classes, or framing. Their fast, courteous service is second to none and their prices are better than any other art supply store around.
Cannot tell you what a life saver they have been for school art projects and my daughter enjoys her art classes she takes every Sunday!
-
Got a groupon for a 2-hr wheel throwing class. Not only was it an amazing price but it was a wonderful class. Michaela was amazing! She was hands off if you wanted her to be and hands on if you needed help. Perfect for date night or if you just want to try something new!
-
Just over a week ago, my mom and I took Michaela's wheel-thrown pottery class and absolutely loved it.
Michaela kept the class lighthearted and fun but also made sure everyone was able to complete at least one solid piece. I learned a lot and enjoyed every minute of it.
I highly reccomend Zelda's Art World.

Pleasent people to deal with will definitely be there again.

I brought a group of 20 teens from MI for a convention and was in dire need of something to entertain them with saturday night. i reaches out to Zeldas Art World and they created an engaging program that kept all my teens busy, plus they provided food! couldn't be happier!
-
On a whim I took my daughter. She took a painting class. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of supplies at great prices!!
-
We just took our two rambunctious boys here a few weeks ago and couldn’t be happier with the staff and services. We’re always afraid of the bull in th China Shop scenario and we were quickly put at ease with the staff helping to select ceramics & paint, which resulted in a couple of hours of relative peace. I highly recommend for any parent.. Also we were impressed with the array of services/classes offered, and the sheer utility of the space as well (every turn felt like a new space to create something different). Looking forward to next 2hour “respite”.

I have been coming to Zelda's for about 10 years for all my framing needs. Irvin, manager of the framing department, will spend as much time as needed to help pick out just the right frame, glass, and mats. He has excellent taste, a lot of patience, is very detail-oriented, and his guidance has been priceless. It's obvious that he loves what he does. A large needlepoint I had worked on for a long time needed stretching and framing and I didn't hesitate to leave it with Irvin - I knew he would handle it with TLC. Zelda's has a HUGE framing department spanning the whole gamut of materials from very economical to super luxurious and whimsical. Anything you need framed - posters, art work, photos, certificates, tapestries, handiwork - bring it to Irvin and you won't be disappointed!
-
Went for a framing, great job!! staff was super friendly and accommodating!!
Framing job was beautiful and efficient

Zelda's art world is such a wonderful place to go for art classes, art materials, framing and anything in between. The owners are the classiest, nicest bunch and when you are there you feel like family.
Their prices are great, there service is best in class and their knowledge is vast. -
This place is amazing. I go here all the time and my daughter takes art classes here. Prices are great, staff is warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They will stay with you and help you for as long as it takes to make sure you have what you want. I highly recommend them!

I go here all the time and my daughter takes painting classes here. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They will spend as much time as you need to make sure you get what you need. I highly recommend them for classes, if you need art supplies, and if you need something framed.

Yea! This Zelda's Art World is probably the closest to my apartment (although Brooklyn is a close second, with the Metro). I went here specifically for screen-printing ink, and left a good $30 poorer. (In my defense, I had a coupon! BTW: get the membership card) To paraphrase my friendly cashier Kevin: you can't go into Zelda's Art World and leave with just one thing :) And hey, I've been meaning to get back into carving anyway...
-
Great experience at Zelda's art world. I have been getting photographs, works of art, and family mementos, framed here for years. I've trusted them with irreplaceable items, and they come through time after time. Their craftsmanship, recommendations, and service are impeccable.
-
I went here today and i loved ut it felt like my own heaven the staff is very respectful and patient and i loved it i mean I've getting my art supplies online but now i know somewhere minutes away from my school that i can get everything i need and with great prices
-
The master framers at Zelda's Art World added immense warmth to an important but otherwise generic diploma of mine. Framing is as much an art as any picture-making. With incredible knowledge and skill, the framers at Zelda's gave a personal touch to my diploma using specialized techniques of hand-drawn lines--powerfully impactful in their understated elegance. I could not be happier with the service, professionalism, and friendliness of the master framers at Zelda's Art World.
-
Unfortunately switch of owners. No more amazing Zelda and Ron running the store with their warmth and kindness.
-
Loving the new vibe at zeldas and the awesome staff!
Always so helpful and the parties are amazing! -
Thanks for the skill building lessons and portfolio preparation! My son successfully auditioned for his first choice, Art and Design High School!!!
-
Wonderful place int he heart of Brooklyn. My daughter has been doing sunday classes with Rebecca and has been improving tremendously in her painting.
Great place to send the kids for classes or to stock up on Art Supplies.
-
Damn could you believe this is the only art store on this side of Brooklyn??? No artist in the ghetto?? If they don't have what I need here I usually have to go into Manhattan.
Yes I know there's a few other art stores around Brooklyn but in the middle this is all we got!
-
Great place! Very helpful staff and they almost always have what I need.
-
I love this place! So employees are so well informed and attentive. They have a store in front as well as a great framing section. The ceramics section is fun. I had a party done with them and they took care of EVERYTHING!(ask for Dana) We also had a painting party for my mother's birthday. The instructor was so helpful and positive and helped with every level "painter" there.
I strongly recommend Zeldas's. -
I worked at Zelda's Art World as a TA and it was amazing. I saw the kids improve their art skills over the course of weeks! The staff here is really friendly and I come here to get all my art supplies. They also do framing!
-
I brought my diploma in and the framer took his time in helping me find the look I wanted. I saw a number of sample frames which were already done and it made things so much easier. All in all it was a great experience which I highly recommend.
-
This is a great local stop When you enter in your greeted in a friendly fashion. People there are very helpful. They have interesting art classes there as well that I'm interested in looking into.
-
Brooklyn's Art Deli I went there a couple of times and its a very warm and friendly store. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful. They don't have an overwhelming variety in each sort of materiel, but a variety in materials in general.
Love,
Happy Customer :D
-
nice people they are very helpful not lazy they actually get from behind the counter to help you this is a nice place
-
I have taken art classes at the Art Students League and in some ways Zelda's is better. ASL is a great place but you get very little time per class of instruction. At Zelda's, you can ask questions and get quite a bit of time, which really helped me improve rapidly.
-
Science projects to crochet projects.. I love them. The guys (and gals) are awesome. I was able to get some crochet hooks for 6.95 for the entire pack that was selling online for 13.95.
I can't talk about the items for items i've never needed. However, mediocrity isn't a problem I have ever encountered.
Keep it up Zelda's...
-
an independent arts and craft store----extremely friendly and quite affordable
-
I took a friend's daughter here for ceramic painting. It was expensive, but not more than any other ceramic painting place. We sat for hours painting and chatting, we never felt rushed even though several groups came and went while we were there. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable and I would certainly come back here again for a play date.
I looked around at their other art supplies and their prices are a little high compared to what I'm used to, but they seem to have a pretty good selection of quality supplies so I don't mind supporting a locally owned business.
There's even a little gallery next to the framing station where you can check out some unique artwork created by students and staff of Zelda's.
-
Great local business. I stopped by for some stickers which ended up being a great deal at $.99 for a sheet and the 4-color pens which Staples has been selling at outrageous prices. Prices were decent and staff were friendly.
-
Had a bunch of pieces I needed framed. Was not only served by knowledgeable well educated staff but was extremely happy with how the frames turned out. They are currently on my wall and people are always commenting how nice they are.
Could not have asked for a better experience.
Prices were good, especially compared to some of the other places I've been to.

I have been going here for years, I don't know why until yesterday I thought to write a review for them. Its kind of strange how my brain works.
I literally have been going here for more then a decade, I remember taking acrylic, oil, and sketch classes here frequently, as in like 3 times a week as an adolescent. Seems like ages ago, but it wasn't I'm still young, I hope... :/
They have a limited selection of stuff, and what they do have is equal to prices of really gorgeous art supply stores in Manhattan. So if I'm in the city I like to brouse through a store like Lee's, and I come to Zelda's for art emergencies, or just when I'm being a lazy bum.
I may start to send my son for some art lessons, I think it's always good for children to experience different extra curricular. It's enriching, and you never know if I have the next Picasso on my hands!
Their staff is nice, they're all young artists that just need to be surrounded by brushes and canvases all day long, gotcha, don't worry I understand. They really try to help as best as they can, but they frequently find the need to ask someone "above" them for advice with how to help their customers, which is fine, I don't really mind, unless I'm in a rush.
Their newly renovated framing studio is really nice, and they have done a great job framing some pieces of mine, I'm very satisfied.

Small Mom and Pop art store with big personality!
So I've been to the location in Queens a few times and imagine my surprise when I realized that not only did they have a location in Brooklyn, but its close to my home.
I love this store point blank period. I draw, crochet, attempted knitting and beading and now I'm venturing into abstract painting. I did my research and went straight there to get supplies. The owner is such a sweetheart. I had my hands full of items and she said "Sweetie you don't need all of that, its pointless". She gave me cheaper alternatives and told me how to use everyday household items in place of the supplies I was attempting to purchase (ie. gave me less expensive brushes, acrylic paint and suggested I use a paper plate and cups instead of a paint palette and water cup) . I was amazed that she would let "money walk out the door" rather than fill my cart with useless things. I'm convinced that she's really doing this for the love of art and not for the love/ greed of money (Impressed).
Minus one star because they seemed a little short staffed and check out dragged.
Overall: I'll definitely be back (I'm already running out of paint)!

(This review is only for the framing dept.)
I got a couple of things framed for a very decent price. The man behind the counter was very nice and knowledgable and they were done on time.
I would definitely go back.

Zelda's is the only art supply store near Brooklyn College and fantastic if you need something in a pinch. The employees are super helpful, the atmosphere is relaxed and they offer classes for ceramics and painting on the side.
They have a wide selection of brushes and paints. It is a small store, so don't expect the type of choices that you might see at Blick or Utrecht (or whatever conglomerate those two merged into).
I think the best part about Zelda's is the sale items and imported items that you won't see at other stores. I picked up a set of Russian pan watercolors that I'd never seen before and some loose tube watercolors that were $0.99 each. Also, they had soft-grip paintbrushes that were high quality for $1.99.
The prices are slightly higher on some items than you'd find in a major retailer, but that is to be expected with any small business. I don't mind paying a little more when I know I am supporting the only art store in our area.

Glad to have found this gem. Went in for supplies for a cross-stitching project, which unfortunately they didn't have. Yet. Lovely Jodi empathized with how hard it is to find certain craft supplies locally, and said that they'll be carrying needlepoint supplies soon. We'll go back for them!
-
They're always stocked with whatever I need. The customer service is always pleasant and helpful. So happy to have this shop in the neighborhood.
-
I am so pleased with my experience at Zelda's. I came in needing advice and I received excellent expert opinion from several of the staff. The customer service is great, and I am so happy with my purchase. I look forward to my future shopping experiences in this store.

I was having a marker crisis. Yes, there is such a thing. I needed them for a canvas sign-in board and could not figure out what kind to use . . . And I of course realized this at the last minute I needed help and fast. I had tried to research everything online but I really needed help from people who know their craft . . . And I found it locally at Zelda's.
I called in a panic (remember this was a crisis). The young lady who answered took me seriously (although I am sure I sounded like a loon) and let me know there were several options. I headed over and brought the canvas with me . . . I had driven by this store hundreds of times but this was my first time going in . . . And I was brought back to my childhood when stores catered to a niche and the staff was pleasant but knowledgeable . . . versus now a days when you ask a question and you get a hand pointing you to an aisle.
Before leaving I inquired about another idea I had for framing an invitation for the event I was assisting with . . . I did not feel like I was just another customer -- they were building a relationship. I was not looking to spend a lot of money but I left knowing when I need something framed professionally I would much rather come here and collaborate than go to a chain store where I am just another sale.
I went to pay for my purchase but the young lady working the register was assisting another customer in the ceramics studio . . . I wandered towards the back where they hold classes and was approached by a gentleman who greeted me with the biggest smile . . . I made sure to let him know how impressed I was with both the store and the staff. When he asked me what brought me in I told him about my crisis and shared that the canvas was for a Bar Mitzvah I was assisting with. His mazel tov was so heartfelt that I felt like I was speaking to a family member and not the proprietor of a local store.
Zelda's is a gem . . . And we are lucky to have it. I hope to go back soon as I dig into my more creative self.
-
I will make it a point to come here instead of major art supply chains simply because of the amazing customer service. You'll find what you're looking for but also make acquaintance by some of the kindest employees around. I love to fun artsy atmosphere of Zelda's art world and will be coming back for sure.
-
I got my first real set of paint brushes from here as a kid. I haven't been here in a while but every time I go I'm always amazed at how friendly and helpful the staff is.
-
Very helpful and pricing is ok, not the cheapest but its an art store so what IS cheap u know? For the location and convenience pricing is good enough! I will continue to go here
-
Zeldas is amazing! Excellent customer service and the most friendly employees! They gave me all the professional help I needed and gave me many ideas. I felt like a true artist as I worked with their framing team. I highly recommend them and will be back for their art and pottery classes

For Christmas my kids wanted a family day doing pottery. I called Zelda's Art World and booked an appointment. Steven was our instructor. I have to commend him. He is knowledgeable, patient, and supportive. His background is very impressive as well. He definitely won me over. I can't wait to see him again.
I am looking forward to part 2, glazing. I am interested in booking the hand building pottery class next. And possibly, doing a home party.
I strongly believe that if you are looking to make memorable experiences with your family. This is the best way to do it. Invest in your time with your children. Make you children well rounded. Try something new.

Asked for a frame for a poster. First he priced some job within the $500 range. Then he said fir about $130 he can make special lamination without a frame. If I buy a frame from a store after it is laminated, then he will frame it for $50. When I picked up the job after it was laminated. I noticed a dirty thumb print on the side. I do not remember seeing such a thumbprint when I gave it to him. If it was smudged before I handed to him, then he should have noticed it. He could have recommended to not complete such an expensive job,
Yesterday I went to a photo shop to ask for a frame. He said it has to be ordered special, and it will cost $93. Obviously the thumbprint will still be visible. I also had to order a wide frame (which I do not like very much, but the photographer said that it has to be a heavy type, otherwise the heavy cardboard lamination would cause the frame to break.
Everything is better now with Zelda's Art World. They ordered a new print for me and framed it nicely. -
I did a pottery class at night on a random Wednesday night. The only downside is that you need to RSVP at least 2 weeks in advance due to company policy. It was a small studio in the back and the guy Steven was really friendly and let me use as much clay to form some bowls. Do not wear your best clothing as they were be specked with gray clay. I loved the items I ended up making which were 2 bowls with lovely colors. When it comes to finalizing the product, they charge by size of the item. There is no sitting fee to paint your item, but they charge for firing the item. It is certainly a process: form the item, wait for it to dry, then paint, then glaze the item. Patience is key.
-
I was looking for someplace to have 3 art photographs framed and I found Zelda's on Yelp. What a great find! Irvin the framing manager is amazing. He is knowledgeable, talented and intuitive. And patient and with me you kind of have to be, I don't know anything so I ask a lot of questions. HA! He looked at what I brought in, asked all the right questions and helped me find the perfect framing materials from the frames themselves, the mats and the glass. He went over every detail of the process with me and I could not be more pleased. And let me tell you I was absolutely overwhelmed when I saw the sheer number of frame choices but he zeroed in on what would look best with the 3 different pieces from 3 different artists and found one framing material that would work with all of them.
I was very happy with the price, in this case the old adage of you get what you pay for definitely applies. This is quality work. And when there was a slight delay in time he let me know well in advance and they were still ready in plenty of time. Great work! I highly recommend Zelda's Art World and in particular Irvin for framing whatever it is you need to have done. -
Steven is a great instructor!! We highly recommend the place after our wheel throwing class! Bobby and Donna
-
Since my fiance wrote a review I figure I should too since I was the one who enjoy it the MOST! We did a wheel throwing class which I never done before. I had only done free hand pottery class back in HS. It was a small class (3 ppl) and the instructor, Steven was very attentive, patient, friendly and helpful. We even ran over the 2 hr period so we can finish our last piece of work. I made 2 items while my fiance made 3 items. It was A LOT of fun! Make sure you don't have long nails for this class otherwise you going to get clay under your nail. After you finish they going to fire it up in the coming week or so and you can go back to paint/glaze it. I just finish glazing it the other day. In a week, I would be able to pick up the finish work when it's all fired up and pretty!
